MARIETTA — A young Marietta man was arrested Jan. 11 by the Marietta police after they say he stole four guns from his father and pawned them at local stores.

According to the warrant, Tyler Pass began stealing the items from his father, Philip, in the middle of May and continued through the beginning of January, with a couple of sales occurring at noon on New Year’s Eve.

Pass was arrested at his home on Conrad Court on 11 theft charges, four listed as felonies for involving firearms, according to the arrest report.

The warrant said Pass pawned a .22-caliber Savage rifle for $70, a .32-caliver Star pistol for $140, a .35-caliber Marlin sporting rifle for $175 and a .22-caliber Colt New Frontier revolver for $250.

The warrant listed the pawn ticket numbers for the guns, which were recovered.

The warrant also says Pass also stole a gas grass trimmer that was sold by Cash America Pawn Shop at 587 Cobb Parkway and a chain saw that was sold by iPawn at 1263 Roswell Road. Those items were unrecoverable, according to the warrant.

Pass was granted a $35,000 bond, but has not been released.
