Police seek unidentified man they say robbed Austell Dollar General at gunpoint

Cobb Police reported an armed robbery Friday at 8:35 a.m. at a Dollar General at 1391 Veterans Memorial Highway in Austell.

According to investigators, a black man came to the front door of the store and drew a handgun.  He then forced the employee to open the store’s safe and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the business on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect was last seen wearing dark clothing and grey Reebok shoes.  He was also described as wearing a red ski mask and armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
