A woman is in stable condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital after being struck by two cars at 7 a.m. Tuesday on her way to a CCT bus station.

Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin said the woman, who is in her early 50s, was walking down the middle of the road on South Marietta Parkway near Aviation Road when she was “clipped” by a car that kept going after it knocked her down.

“She went to the ground, tried to pull herself out of the lane of travel, but then was hit by another car, a van. That van stopped and provided aid,” Baldwin said.

The second driver is not facing charges, but police are looking for the first driver who did not stop.

“The only thing that I know is that they are looking for a dark-colored, passenger car,” Baldwin said. “There could be damage to the mirror, possible damage to the driver’s door where it grazed her as it went by.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Marietta Police Department at (770) 794-5300.
