Cobb police investigating suspected armed robbery

Cobb police are investigating a reported armed robbery at a Dollar General at 710 Six Flags Drive in Austell.

According to investigators, a man entered the Dollar General armed with a handgun and began demanding money from store employees. When the employees began having trouble opening the cash register, the man fired two shots into the front counter.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall with a medium to heavy build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, light-colored blue jeans with red, white and black sneakers. He also had on white gloves and an American-flag bandana covered his face.

No one was injured in the incident. Anyone with information about the incident is asked by police to call (770) 499-3945.
