Acworth Police arrested a man New Year’s Eve who they say was carrying more than 1½ pounds of suspected methamphetamine.

Jonathan Eric McGee, 32, of Acworth is charged with three drug-related felonies, including trafficking and intent to distribute, after police found suspected marijuana, meth and steroids, according to an arrest warrant.

McGee was pulled over by an Acworth police officer at about 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve because the tag on his 1993 Ford F-150 did not match the vehicle.

After police conducted a probable cause search due to the “odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle,” 801 grams of suspected meth were found, about 1.8 pounds, according to the warrant.

A clear glass vial with a pale yellow liquid labeled testosterone enanthate was also found along with a syringe and $11,790 inside a book bag sitting next to the driver, according to the warrant.

Police also reported finding four individually packaged bags of suspected marijuana and two scales, according to the warrant.

McGee remains in the Cobb jail.
