A Dallas man was arrested on six charges Tuesday night after he allegedly rammed into another vehicle with his truck and made verbal threats against the driver’s life.

The warrant stated Nathaniel Welch of Dallas allegedly assaulted William Greene and Lindsey Hall with a 2007 GMC pickup truck, when he rammed into their truck four times and “also attempted to side swipe and run the victim’s truck off the road.”

Welch was arrested by the Austell Police Department on six charges, two listed as felonies, aggravated assault, terrorist threats and acts, simple assault, following too closely, having an open container of alcohol and driving while under the influence.

The couple’s truck struck another vehicle, causing a rear-end collision, on the corner of Thornton Road and Westfork Boulevard, the warrant stated.

The warrant stated that Welch got out of his truck, jumped on the victim’s hood and “punched the hood with both fists.”

Then, Welch confronted the couple and stated in front of witnesses, “I will kill you,” according to the warrant.

The warrant also stated Welch had a 16-ounce bottle of liquor in the truck and “the alcoholic beverage was spilled on the driver’s floorboard.”

Welch was released the next day on a $15,000 bond.

Failed to mention that this young man was a Cobb County Deputy Sheriff. I wonder why?

The article failed to mention that this young man was a Cobb Co. Deputy Sheriff because he quit that job over 2 years ago to seek treatment for PTSD resulting from combat in the Marines. While employed with the Sheriff's office he tried to save a woman who committed suicide in front of her 2 children. Shortly afterwards, he began experiencing difficulty dealing with the woman's suicide and he began experiencing PTSD and flashbacks of war. Since then, he has tried to seek help from several Vetrans Hospitals & after a short time they always turn him away & tell him that he is fine. While his actions regarding this incident were OUTRAGEOUS, he is a product of what happens when our soldiers come back from war and can not get the proper care that they need. It is very sad that our government would rather put our vetrans lives & other people's lives in jeopardy rather than to actually provide them with the help that they need.
