Carolyn Kemp, 87, of Marietta, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Mrs. Kemp was a lifelong resident of Lost Mountain community, life member of Midway Presbyterian Church in Powder Springs. She devoted her life to her church, family, and community. She is survived by one daughter, Jenni Kemp Gross, of Acworth; son, Tommy Kemp, of Marietta; brother, Joseph “Joe” Ellis, of Marietta; seven grandchildren, Jeff Rice, Joey Rice, Stacie Brock, Annabeth Rice, Alan Gross, Andy Kemp, Sam Rice; four great grandchildren, Adalyn Brock, Alex Brock, Camden Gross, Asher Gross; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Kemp and daughter, Marilyn Kemp. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, December 12th, 2013, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory Macland Chapel in Powder Springs, GA, with Rev. Todd Allen and Rev. Joe York officiating. Contributions can be made to Calvary Children’s Home or Midway Cemetery Association. The family will receive friends 11:00 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory Macland Chapel in Powder Springs, GA. Will be handling the arrangements.
