18-year-old Demarco Draughan, an inmate in the Cobb County jail, was charged Nov. 22 with additional felonies surrounding an attempt to escape custody. According to the warrant, Draughan is charged with bribery, criminal solicitation and an escape felony for trying to persuade a deputy officer to assist him in the getaway. The warrant stated Draughan reminded the deputy of his role in transporting inmates from the jail and offered to transfer money through an untraceable source, “Green Dot” for his services.

Draughan was arrested in October 2012 and remains in the county jail without bond, according to jail records.
