Woodstock Police said the shoplifting took place at the outlet mall Sept. 14. The store manager told police at the time that three black females entered the store and stole a number of items, according to Woodstock Police spokeswoman Brittany Duncan.
“As the three females fled the store, they were seen leaving in a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, black in color, with a GA license plate number of PD15KQ,” Duncan said in a news release. “One of the females appears to be pregnant.”
Investigators identified one of the suspects as Shawndrea Gay, currently in custody in Cobb County, and Woodstock Police are securing a warrant for her arrest.
Gay was originally taken into custody in Gwinnett County and was charged for shoplifting at the Mall of Georgia, and has charges pending in Cobb County from allegedly shoplifting at Town Center Mall, Moss said.
Police believe four individuals were involved with the shoplifting, and believe the same suspects have hit two other Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dawsonville and Gwinnett counties.
Surveillance footage from the shoplifting at the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in Woodstock confirmed details that the store manager reported to police investigators, police said.
Woodstock Police Chief Calvin Moss said with the public’s help the case could be wrapped up soon.
“If we can get the other folks identified, I think we can wrap this up pretty neatly and link it to the other outlet malls,” Moss said.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the other women, or any information about these incidents, is asked to call the Woodstock Police Department at (770) 592-6012.
