Mrs. Martha Ann Hamilton Parson, 89, of Cobb County, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Mrs. Parson was the daughter of the late Charlie A. Hamilton and Bessie F. Story Hamilton. She lived all of her life in Cobb County and was the widow of the late Chester E. Parson. Mrs. Parson was born September 15, 1924 in an old house on Old Hamilton Road where her parents farmed the land. Old Hamilton Road was named for her father, Charlie A. Hamilton who served as The Justice of the Peace. When she was young, she attended the original one room Due West School which was in the intersection of Due West, Kennesaw Due West, and Acworth Due West Roads. She later Attended McEachern High School which housed grades 1-11. She married Chester Parson and they had one son, Gene Parson. Mrs. Parson worked at Bell Bomber Plant, Counter and Booth, and later for the Cobb County Board of Education at Pine Mountain Middle School in the cafeteria where she retired. Mrs. Parson is survived by one son, Gene Parson and his wife Lynne; three grandchildren- Major Chris Parson, USMC and his wife Kristen, Candie Parson Griner and her husband Todd, and Brandy Reynolds and her husband Dave. She has seven great-grandchildren Sydney, Corbin, Hannah, John David, Thomas, Devin, and Tinley, numerous other nieces, nephews, family members and many friends. Funeral service will be Friday, November 22, 2013 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Davis and Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will be in Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1605 Mars Hill Rd. Acworth, GA 30101 where Mrs. Parson was a lifetime member.
