MARIETTA — A local dog owner was arrested this week after police say she skipped out on a $3,000 veterinary bill.

Danielle Giroux, of Marietta, was arrested by the Cobb County Police Department on Monday on a felony count of theft of services.

The warrant stated that Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m., Girous entered the Town and Country West Veterinary clinic on the corner of Powder Springs Road and Macland Road.

Giroux talked to the staff about the $3,000 kennel bill for boarding her two dogs from Aug. 23 to Nov. 9, the warrant stated.

In an effort to avoid payment, Girous removed her dogs from the cages, carried them out the back door and placed them into a silver Nissan Xterra, the warrant stated.

Giroux was released on a $5,000 bond the next day.
