Police want the public’s help in locating a person of interest in a case involving the attempted abduction of a nine-year-old boy.

Police say the incident occurred by the Ridge Point Apartments on 720 Franklin Road in Marietta on the afternoon of Nov. 6 as the boy was getting off the school bus.

The boy was reportedly grabbed and pulled in another direction by a white man thought to be between the ages of 25 to 35.

The boy was able to break free and run home, said Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating and identifying a “person of interest” in the case.

Anyone who may know the identity of the person in the accompanying GBI sketch is asked to contact Detective Mark Erion at (770) 794-5363 or the Marietta Police Anonymous Tip Line at (770) 794-6990.
