Two Paulding County officers say they narrowly escaped being run over by Trevor Araya on Nov. 5, on Cedarcrest Road near Cobb Parkway.

According to the arrest warrant, the officers were attempting to place stop sticks on the roadway when Araya, of Alpharetta, who was driving eastbound, tried to avoid the sticks by entering the opposite lane at high speed, running through the median and directing his car towards them.

The officers, employed with Dallas Police Department in Paulding, say they were forced toward the median to dodge the vehicle.

Araya remains in custody, according to jail records.
