Mableton — Police say a woman was carjacked at 7:20 p.m. Friday evening while waiting at a stop sign on Mableton Parkway right before the Fulton County line, west of the Chattahoochee River.

According to Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department, the woman was in her gray 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix when she was struck from behind by another vehicle.

A man exited the vehicle from behind her car, pulled out a small silver semi-automatic pistol and demanded the Grand Prix, Bowman said.

The woman exited her car and the man, a black male approximately 19 or 20 years old, drove off towards Interstate 20, Bowman said.

The vehicle that police say struck the Grand Prix was recovered on Interstate 20 and Six Flags Parkway. It had been originally reported carjacked from Atlanta earlier that evening, Bowman said.

Cobb Police are looking for the gray 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix with a Georgia tag PDG 5689. Anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
