Car collides with bicyclist, runs off Riverside Parkway, one dead

AUSTELL — Cobb Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Riverside Parkway in Austell late Tuesday at about 10:57 p.m.

According to investigators, the driver of a gold 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was speeding northbound on Riverside Parkway when he lost control of the car and collided with a bicyclist who was on the western shoulder of the road.

The car continued northbound, struck a tree and rolled over, ending up in the parking lot of 270 Riverside Parkway.

The bicyclist has been identified as 43-year-old Antonio Walker of Atlanta. Walker was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was being treated for non- life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Monte Carlo has been identified as 31-year-old Therman Kilcrease of Austell who was transported by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center.

A passenger in the vehicle identified as 52-year-old Ollie Regina Jones of Austell succumbed to injuries she sustained in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cobb Police spokesman Officer Michael Bowman.

This collision remains under investigation and charges are expected to be filed, said Bowman.

From this report, the cops will have a hard time blaming this bicyclist for the crash, but given our vague and contradictory laws, i feel SURE they'll find some way to pin in on the bicyclist.
