On Nov. 2 at 6 p.m., the Clay Oven Greek Mediterranean Restaurant in Marietta is hosting Marietta’s Got Talent. The fundraiser benefits Philoptochos Society (ladies’ philanthropy society) of their Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta that helps people in need through ministries such as a soup kitchen.
Be a star at the open mic event. No auditions are necessary. Enjoy appetizers such as homemade Greek yogurt dip, hummus and hand-rolled Greek meatballs. Attendees get a choice of beef or chicken entree baked overnight in a wood burning clay oven. Vegetarian options are also available. Soft drinks and desserts are included. A cash bar is offered for wine and beer drinkers. Greek dancers from the Greek festival will also entertain.

The Polk Street Players presents the sweet, funny comedy “A Thousand Clowns” by Herb Gardner, directed by Stephen Banks and starring Max Flick, Katie Schaffer and Sharon Zinger. The story centers on an eccentric, non-conformist (and unemployed) television writer whose custody of his young nephew is threatened when the Child Welfare Bureau comes calling.
Performances are Nov. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23 at 8 p.m., Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. on the Stellar Cellar stage at St. James’ Episcopal Church.
