Mary Geneva Thomason Woods, age 85, of Mableton passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013. She attended Rock Branch High School for 12 years without a single absence. She left the farm in Rock Branch, GA to obtain her degree as a Secretary at Southern Business School in Atlanta. From there, she worked for O’Hanlon Reports Inc. for 14 years. She was a beloved member of First Christian Church of Mableton. She was a proud mother and grandmother who also served as a supporter of Cobb Street Ministries alongside her husband, David. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, David Lee Woods. Survivors include daughter, Julie and husband Charles “Tony” Byers of Mableton; stepdaughter, Linda Marie McDaniel and family of Phenix City, AL; granddaughter, Morgan Li Byers of Mableton; sisters in law, Beatrice Thomason of Rock Branch, GA, Alma Myers of Orlando, FL, Dora Lewis of Lansing, MI, and Maxine Hoffman of Mason, MI; brothers in law, Melvin Woods of Big Rapids, MI and Ted Woods of Lansing, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 and 10:00 – 11:30 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 until service time at Gene Davis-White Columns Chapel in Mableton with Minister Richard Vartenesian and Minister Andy Daniell officiating.
