2013 Cobb Heart Walk

The Cobb Heart Walk is a nationally sponsored by Subway Restaurants and Jenny Craig and locally sponsored by WellStar Cardiac Network. More than 1,500 Cobb County area residents will walk to improve their heart health and raise money to fight heart disease and stroke. Local company and community teams, heart disease survivors, friends and family members of all ages will gather at the Marietta Square to walk or run the non-competitive, 5K route in honor of their loved ones and in support of the cause. Proceeds directly fund research and programming needed to prevent and treat the diseases.

6th Annual Cobb Arts Ball – Old Hollywood Glamour

The 6th Annual Cobb Arts Ball – Old Hollywood Glamour, sponsored by Cobb Life Magazine and benefitting the endowment fund of the United Arts of Cobb, is a black tie event that will be held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel Galleria. A cocktail reception and silent auction will be at 6 p.m., a dinner and live auction will be at 7:30 p.m., and casino games, live music and dancing at 9 p.m.

32nd Freedom Fund Oscar Freeman Awards Banquet

The Cobb County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will have the 32nd Freedom Fund Oscar Freeman Awards Banquet at the Marriott Atlanta Northwest Windy Hill. The theme will be “NAACP: We shall not be moved.” In addition to honorees, the annual awards program is the financial cornerstone for Branch operations.
