DEAR EDITOR:

In August, the venue in a criminal case was changed from Glynn County to Cobb County. I wanted to let the citizens of Cobb County know how well we were received by their judicial officials.

I have been involved with Georgia’s judicial system for 28 years. Cobb County’s judicial system exemplifies the very best. All officials including the judges, the court administrator, the district attorney, the clerk of court, the sheriff’s office, bailiffs and local attorneys were gracious hosts. Changing venue is never an easy proposition, but all of the courthouse staff were exceptional in their hospitality.

People are often critical of government for many reasons. However, the Cobb County judicial system, while I am sure has its challenges, is very impressive. The relatively new courthouse (with room to expand) was equally impressive. It provided the superior accommodations for all the court and parties.

The citizens of Cobb can be proud of their judicial system. I think the citizens need to hear when their government officials not only do something right but provide outstanding service.
