Norma Kathleen (Prescott) Chase, 87, long time resident of Temple Terrace, Florida passed away, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Norman L. Chase and sister, Thelma Bogar. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Jean Ferguson and her husband, Tom of Marietta, GA; granddaughter, Kate Ferguson Koulouris and husband, George of Atlanta, GA; two great grandchildren, James and Anna Koulouris of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Ruth Perkins of Southbridge, MA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Hackensack, NJ and raised in St. Johnsbury, VT, she graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1943, and from University of Vermont in 1946, with a Bachelors degree in education. She taught public school, grades 1-6 and was an Elementary School Principal.  She was a devoted Sunday School teacher and scout leader.  She and Norman lived 47 years in Temple Terrace, Florida where she was active in the Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church, Temple Terrace Friendship Club, and Temple Terrace Woman’s Club, and was a volunteer at University Community Hospital in Tampa, Florida for many years. The Chases traveled extensively after retirement and found many new friends along their journeys.  Norma and Norman always loved their Vermont roots and visited the New England area annually to see family and friends.  Norma had recently moved to Marietta, Georgia to be close to her family. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 26th at 4:00 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory, 180 Church Street Marietta, GA. Family will receive friends after the service.  Interment will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida alongside her devoted and loving husband.  Memorials may be made to the Congregational Church of St. Johnsbury Center.
