Update: The Cobb County State Court of Cobb County closed this case on Nov. 26 after Ramon Sammons completed a gun safety course. “The Cobb County Sheriff’s office has no objection to a dismissal of this charge,” stated the court document.

MARIETTA — An Atlanta lawyer was arrested by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office on the morning of Oct. 10 after they say he carried a gun through the Cobb County Superior Court. Ramon Sammons, a personal injury lawyer with Sammons and Carpenter law firm, had a Bersa .38-caliber pistol in his briefcase, according to the warrant. Sammons was charged with a misdemeanor and released on a $3,000 bond a few hours later. A member of the Georgia State Bar since 1999, Sammons is married to Adriane Sammons, a native of Marietta who is also an attorney in Atlanta, according to the Sammons and Carpenter law firm website.

What happened to the metal detectors ????

At the front door entrance of the courthouse EVERYONE must walk thru an (Airport type) of three sided metal detector and all purses and brief cases and contents of pockets must be on the conveyor that goes thru the x-ray.

HOW could this have happened ?
