A gorgeous centerpiece of white hydrangeas, roses and greenery created by Cathy Wilson, (daughter of attendee Martha Young), champagne and gifts highlighted the festive luncheon. Place settings identified each attendee’s significant activity at MHS. There were a lot of hugs and much chattering to catch up on.

Congratulations to Sibahn Doxey, 20, of Kennesaw who will compete for the title of Miss Georgia USA 2014 on Nov. 21, 22 and 23 at the Woodland Performing Arts Theatre in Cartersville. Doxey is the daughter of Troy and Carla Doxey. She attends Kennesaw State University and her activities include rugby, photography, volunteering, modeling, fishing, cooking and more.
Doxey is a member of the National Rifle Association, reigned as the former Miss Montana Teen USA 2011, was captain of high school State Champion rugby team, prospective member of Daughters of the American Revolution The Fielding Lewis chapter, and is a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

The winner of Miss Georgia USA 2014 will represent the state of Georgia in the 2014 Miss USA pageant.
On Oct. 24, A Voice of Hope in Victory will be presented at Due West United Methodist Church in the family life center from 7 to 9 p.m. The event aims to raise awareness about human trafficking in America, specifically in Georgia and to provide an opportunity for networking. Rickey Cole will provide the worship music.
Susan Norris, author of “Rescuing Hope, A Story of Sex Trafficking in America” (featured in Lifestyle on March 27) will be the keynote speaker along with other organizations such as “Back to the streets” The Mercy Project, NiteLite USA and many others.
