Southern Polytechnic State University wrapped up its annual corporate-community-campus fundraising campaign Oct. 14 on “PolyDay,” with a reception attended by the university’s community partners, trustees, alumni, faculty and staff.

President Lisa A. Rossbacher said the goal for this year’s campaign was $200,000 and the amount raised totaled $309,109 including $66,002 contributed by SPSU faculty and staff and $243,107 from alumni, civic and professional organizations and businesses in the Cobb community.

The faculty and staff annual fund recorded its highest gift total ever under the leadership of Kathryn Bedette, associate professor of architecture and Dave Parham, director of technical support in University Information Technology Services. The participation rate was a record-breaking 59 percent.

Don Barbour, regional director of external affairs for AT&T, delivered a ringing endorsement of support for SPSU and its academic programs during the PolyDay celebration at the university’s Globe.
