MARIETTA — A patient at an Austell hospital remains in the Cobb County Jail on an immigration hold after a warrant says he sexually assaulted two other patients last month.

Olorunfemi T. Aderibigbe, 26, of Marietta, was arrested Aug. 28 on two separate counts of sexual battery, both misdemeanor charges.

According to the warrant, he is accused of going into two patients’ rooms Aug. 22 in the behavioral unit at WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell and touching them inappropriately.

Michelle Robinson, a spokesperson with WellStar, confirmed that the two victims involved and Aderibigbe were all patients at the hospital when the incident happened.

“The police were notified at the request of the alleged victims. No WellStar employees were involved. WellStar is fully cooperating with the Cobb County Police Department in their investigation,” Robinson said in a statement. “Due to patient privacy concerns and that there is an ongoing police investigation, WellStar has no further comment.”

Last week’s arrest was not the the first for Aderibigbe.

According to jail records, Aderibigbe was also arrested Aug. 13 at his home in Marietta on criminal trespassing and damages charges.

He is accused of damaging the living room of a home at about 5:30 a.m. by repeatedly striking the walls, causing damage to the sheetrock, the warrant states.

Aderibigbe was released from the Cobb jail three days later on a $2,500 bond.

If he is on an immigration hold NOW why wasn't he put on an immigration hold the FIRST time he was arrested??? I thought Cobb jail checked the status of all prisoners and arrested criminals! Keep him locked up!
Why freed?

Why was this man turned loose to do whatever he wishes to the rest of the community? He is a proven law-breaker, he will no doubt either disappear or else be caught doing something more violent than he has done before. I am sick and tired of reading articles like this about criminals being released back into society when he should be held without bail. What should we do if we have to go into a hospital, hire a security guard? Absolutely disgusting!

its time to take out the trash and take our community back! Im sick of watching criminals get slapped on the wrist, while the rest of the hard working public have to pay for the destruction, disrespect, and turmoil caused by these low lifes. Lets run these people out of our community!!!

They've been doing it to us figuratively for so long, it was only a matter of time until it went literal
