MARIETTA — A Marietta woman was arrested by Cobb County police Sunday afternoon after they say she shot another woman when their verbal dispute turned into a physical fight.

Melissa Leigh Horton was arrested by Cobb County police on Bells Ferry Road, north of Interstate 75, after they say she shot a woman in the lower left abdomen with a Taurus .38 caliber revolver, according to the arrest warrant.

Horton, who has a tattoo on her right arm that reads, “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger,” was charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery and aggravated assault. She was given a $30,000 bond and released Wednesday.
