An Austell woman was arrested Aug. 10 and charged with aggravated assault on a man at her apartment on Westwood Parkway.

At 5:47 p.m., Monica Lashun Bowden reportedly took a steak knife from her kitchen and took a swipe at Anthony Thomas, leaving a gash on his left shoulder that extended downward about 6 to 8 inches, according to the arrest warrant. The cut was deep enough to require sutures, the warrant states.

The felony arrest was made by Cobb County Police Department and Bowden was placed in the county jail pending a bond hearing.
