Mrs. Leslie Mason Hurst, 43, of Marietta, GA passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on August 13, 2013. She was born on May 20, 1970 in Toccoa, GA, and she grew up in Marietta. Upon graduation from Crestwood High School, Leslie went to Emory University where she received degrees in English and Early Childhood Education. Leslie enjoyed a successful career in technology. This was defined by her work with RARE Hospitality, and more recently as Vice President of Marketing for World Fiber Technologies. Leslie was extremely caring, considerate and a committed friend. She will be remembered most for her commitment to her children. They shared a love for sports, particularly baseball and football. She was always the team mom, and parent with a van full of smelly boys. She will be remembered for her determination and her ability to persevere through any situation with grace and dignity. Leslie is survived by her husband of 14 years, William T. Hurst, sons, Tyler Hurst, Walker Hurst and Jack Hurst, mother, Susan Mason, father, Robert Mason and his wife Patricia, brother, Robert Mason, Jr, sisters, Lara Brock (Eric) and Libby Mason, parents-in-law, Robert and Betty Jean Hurst, brother-in-law, Robert Hurst, Jr (Lorna), sister-in-law, Betsy Hodges (Jessie), 5 nieces and 3 nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Leslie may be made to the Homestead Hope Foundation, 10888 Crabapple Rd, Roswell, GA 30075, www.homesteadhospice.com.
