An employee of the Quick Pick Food Mart, at 1242 Atlanta Road in Marietta, was arrested by Smyrna police on charges of operating an illegal gambling machine.

Carol Carver is charged with felony commercial gambling and keeping a gambling place, a misdemeanor after authorities say she paid undercover Marietta-Cobb-Smyrna Narcotics agents winnings from electronic gaming machines at the convenience store. Carver was reportedly the only operator of the store on that day, according to the warrant. The machines are considered illegal because they were not used for entertainment purposes.

Her bond was set at $5,000.
