Police have arrested two more suspects who are alleged to have fled from deputies last Thursday morning after stealing a large amount of copper wiring from a Cobb EMC power station in Acworth.

Erik Davies, 38, and Sean Demore, 20, both of Gainesville, were arrested Thursday night. Daniel Richard Demore, 38, of Gainesville, was arrested following the theft Thursday morning, said Lt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the Cobb EMC power station on Woodstock Road about 5 a.m. Thursday, and found Davies and Daniel Richard Demore, who had loaded a large amount of copper wiring after cutting it out of the power station, Baker said.

All three suspects are charged with commercial burglary, criminal damage to property in the second degree and obstruction, Baker said.

Baker said the three men are being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention center on $33,400 bond each.

Tape a 50

You can protect your air conditioner with a simple $50 bill. Tape it to the a/c in a plastic baggie, and if the copper thieves show up they will just grab the $50 and run to buy some drugs instantly, no hassle, with the $50. Of course they will be back the next night, but by then you'll have noticed your $50 went missing and will be standing your ground next to the a/c.
