Reason for fatal crash still unknown

MARIETTA — An early morning car crash Saturday on Powder Springs Road near Kimberly Drive on Saturday killed one resident and severely injured another.

At 6 a.m. 52-year-old Jose Olvera, of Marietta, was driving his 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva south on Powder Springs Road when it veered left into the northbound lane, striking a silver 2008 Toyota Tacoma.

Olvera was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver of the Toyota, 65-year-old Nhut Huynh of Marietta, was transported to Kennestone Hospital for serious injuries.

Cobb County Police are still investigating the collision and the incident report states the reason for the crash is unknown.
