An inmate at the Cobb County jail faces charges of falsely accusing a Cobb County Sheriff’s Office sergeant of raping him while he was in custody.

Decatur resident Andrew Epperson, who was in custody for alleged possession of cocaine, terroristic threats and several misdemeanors, said that a sergeant forced him to perform sexual acts July 4, according to the arrest warrant. The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office reportedly questioned several inmates and employees, all of whom did not recall the sergeant entering Epperson’s cell.

Epperson was charged with making false statements and concealing facts and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
