Former Kennesaw resident Ted Holder, 81, died the morning of July 14, 2013. The funeral service will be 1 PM, Wednesday, July 17th in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. Interment will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Holder was born September 29, 1931, in Kings, North Carolina to William and Gladys Holder. After his discharge from the United States Navy in 1951, he married Theresa Ensley on October 17, 1953, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Mr. Holder then moved to Georgia where he proceeded to spend much of his adult life operating his family business. He had lived in the Smyrna area for almost 40 years before moving to Kennesaw in 2000. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with those nearest and dearest to him. His family wrote: “[Ted] was the most giving man we ever knew. He had a heart of gold.” He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Paffy and Ken Beckett of Carrollton, GA, Sherie Loehr of Villa Rica, GA, Wanda Walker of Woodstock, GA, Sheila and Rick Kinney of Acworth, GA, Carrie and Shane Maxwell of Winder, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Herbie Holder and Heidi Furzer of Acworth, GA; brother and sisters, Nancy Bryson of Austell, GA, Pat Kellam of Cartersville, GA, Bob Holder of FL; his fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; as well as his love of three years Joan Holland of Kennesaw, GA. Mr. Holder was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; his brothers, Tom, Bill and Don; and his son-in-law, Steve.
