A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. near Hurt Road Park, which lies between Austell Road and the East-West Connector outside of Powder Springs.

Cody Lee Hollingsworth of Douglasville reportedly drove his silver Chevy Silverado onto the sports field of the Cobb County park using a maintenance ramp.

“The field had just recently had new sod planted in spots on the field and the sprinklers were watering the grass and causing the infield of the baseball side to be wet and muddy,” the warrant stated.

Hollingsworth is accused of causing damage in both the infield and outfield.

“The accused made multiple passes on the right side of the field causing a mud bog,” the warrant stated.

The accused admitted he purposefully damaged the field by “mudding” to show his friend the four-wheel-drive capability of his SUV.

Hollingsworth was charged with two felonies, including second degree criminal damage, and was given a $5,000 bond.
