On Monday morning at 11 a.m., a man was arrested while walking on Chastain Road when he wouldn’t cooperate with Officer B. J. Putnam of the Kennesaw State University Police Department.

According to the arrest warrant, Putnam said James Royal of Smyrna “fit the description of a suspicious person wondering through the Town Point Office Building.”

The warrant stated that Royal refused to comply with repeated requests for identification and only stated that he was an employee with KSU.

Records show Royal was terminated from KSU in 2010, the warrant stated.

Royal was charged with obstructing law enforcement and released on a $1,000 bond.
