The evening of June 22 was a wonderland of fairy and fancy straight from the pages of an Elizabethan play as Tammy Cohen celebrated her 50th birthday at Kouzina Christos. Cohen is the owner, president and chair of InfoMart, a nationwide background screening company in Marietta.

The theme of the whimsy-filled fete was A Midlife Summer Night’s Dream. From the 8-foot tall guestbook, roaming fairies and giant peony cupcake display filled with cupcakes from Amy and Tammy’s Boxed Lunch Company — it was a night that would have made Puck jealous. Christos Giannes produced an endless feast for guests and Jeff Hix and the Heretics provided live musical entertainment.

Guests enjoyed the festive celebration and made donations to the YWCA of Northwest Georgia’s Capital Campaign. Attendees included Giannes, Renee Harbeson, John Loud, Bob Ott, Bronwyn O’Dell, Amy and Keith Phillips, Roger Tutterow and many, many more.

Courtney McClure and Amin Izquierdo tied the knot in a storybook wedding last week thanks to the generosity of others. Community members united to make the wedding possible. First Baptist Church of Marietta provided the church; Hon. Juanita P. Steadman performed the ceremony; Mary Knight Baker and Jim Campbell provided beautiful string music; Owens Flower Shop donated flowers; Clint Crowe and Elite Rentals gave the tent, tables, chairs and linens at a discounted rate that was paid for by Reconnecting Families; Liz Cole provided flowers from her garden; Sara and Chuck Clay gave their home for the reception; and Sara acted as wedding coordinator. It was a storybook wedding because of kindness and generosity shown to the bride and groom.

Fashion spotlight of the week: Bold and bright in an orange and white striped Michael Kors sundress — Tyler Simoneau of Marietta — radiating confidence inside and out!
