Police: Man strangled pregnant woman

A local man faces charges after reportedly attempting to murder the mother of his unborn child.

Richard Frances of Kennesaw and the victim reportedly argued after the victim told Frances she planned to date other people. The arrest warrant states that Frances then began to strangle the 6-months-pregnant-woman, resulting in bruising and swelling on the victim’s neck, head and legs. The victim told police officers that Frances had abused her before, according to the arrest warrant.

Frances was arrested by Smyrna Police on June 10 and charged with aggravated assault with intent to murder, which is a felony
