Nolan Charles Robinson, 73, of Cartersville, GA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2013. A native Atlantan, Nolan was the son of Wynelle Free Robinson and Nolan C. Robinson Sr. Nolan graduated from Grady High School in 1958 where he lettered in every sport. He attended Young Harris College and West Georgia College, where he was the captain of the tennis team. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Master’s Degree in counseling, he went to work for Chick-Fil-A, Inc. where he retired after 25 years as Vice President of Administration. He enjoyed magic tricks, traveling with his wife Mary, and spending time with his family. He also loved motorcycles and often went on day trips with friends and the moo cow bikers. Nolan was a long time member of the Georgia Magic Club, International Brotherhood of Magicians, and the Marietta Hot Dog Club. Nolan is survived by his wife, Mary Robinson; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Leigh Robinson; granddaughters, Lauren and Lindsey Robinson; and his sister MaryEm Byce. Visitation will be at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Funeral will be Thursday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Marietta.

Mary, so thankful for the friendship of you and Nolan with my parents. I can just see my dad going up to Nolan and giving him a firm handshake and hug, saying, "Welcome to heaven, Nolan." Grateful, too, that Nolan took time with my children all those years ago when they would spend summers with Grandpa and Grandma in Atlanta. Our hearts are sad for you during this time of loss.
