Jeremy Ryan Kowall passed away on June 2, 2013, at the age of 36. He is survived by his wife Shannon and their two daughters Addison and Mallory; parents Susan and Jack; brothers Josh, wife Amanda, children Lily, Luke; Jonathan, wife Erin, children Cooper, Landon; grandmother Rose Marie DeMarino; in-laws Paula and Charles Wilson, Dr. David and Mary Ann Bruce; sisters-in-law Erin Bruce, Whitney Wilson, Emily Bruce and Rachel Bruce, husband Brad Bissell and children Phoebe, Charlotte; brother-in-law Matthew Bruce; wife’s grandmother Dola Ingrassia. Jeremy was preceded in death by grandmothers Delores DeMarino and Violet Kowall; grandfathers Alfred DeMarino and Walter Kowall; aunts Barbara Kowall and Camille Gaskill; uncle and godfather Francis Gaskill. Jeremy was born on March 19, 1977, and grew up in Donora, Pennsylvania. From an early age, he was an exceptional soccer player, beloved and admired by his teammates and coaches. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech and a master’s in business administration at Emory University. In July 2002, he married his college sweetheart and the love of his life, Shannon. An extraordinary father and husband, he gave infinite energy, love and devotion to his family, and they were his greatest joy. He will always be remembered for his constant humor, inquisitive nature, his thoughtful and calm approach to life’s challenges, and the kindest of hearts. He was blessed with many steadfast, wonderful friends, and he dedicated himself to them with his whole heart. Through every aspect of his life, he showed us what a person can be and what a heart is capable of giving. He transformed all of our lives forever, and he will be inexpressibly missed. On Friday, June 7, there will be visitations from 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., as well as a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at H. M. Patterson and Sons, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta. There will be a funeral mass on Saturday, June 8, at 9 a.m., at Transfiguration Church, 1815 Blackwell Road, Marietta.
