A toddler was found dead in a pool after a party in the family's backyard in Cobb County.

Knox Martin was just 2 years old. His family found him drowned in the pool after a birthday party in Powder Springs. Little Knox had apparently wandered away from family members.

The little boy's parents later discovered they had forgotten to remove the portable ladder from the side of their pool.

Knox Martin was probably the sweetest little boy i have ever met. I loved him with all my heart and this is just a horrible tragedy. He will always have a special place in my heart as will his family.

My heart goes out to this family. My 3 year old son slipped away accidentally drown in his grandparents' pool in 2010. There is no greater loss. It can happen to even the most protective, careful, loving, best parents in the world. Prayers for this family.
Should Be A Law

Anyone having a pool should get swim lessons for their kids. A Water Babies type program would have probably saved this kid or at least given him a much better chance. It should be a law, but the head-up-their butts crazy types would be against anything usurping their right to put their children in danger.

It is obvious that you do not have children or any responsibilities at all. How dare you blame the parents when you do not even know the complete circumstances. The Lord's prayer says to "forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us". perhaps you should remember this next time you lay judgement at someone's feet. I pray that the Lord forgives you NOT as you forgive or judge others. Things happen that we do not understand or even fathom but the Lord is there for those who have faith. I pray for this young child's parents and that they can take comfort in knowing that they will one day see their child in heaven.

My heart goes out to the Martin family. It is very easy to get distracted when you have company. Praying for them!

I do believe the company had already left. I know they loved their child but you can not take your eye off of a two year old child for a second. They see no danger in anything. He is in the arms of Jesus now! No danger there.

To allow this death as being blamed on the pool is extremely damaging to our 2nd amendment gun rights.

Pools don't kill people. Pools just sit there. People kill people.

One has to wonder, was this death perpetrated by anti-gun liberals in order to set precedent for enacting gun control even here in Georgia?

Charge the responsible adult(s).

Are you kidding me? This has nothing to do with the government or gun control. You're so sickening. And charge the adults?! They were amazing parents, and it only take 2 minutes for something tragic to happen. It's a freak accident and you have no information at all except this small article. So keep uneducated remarks to yourself please.

This was my cousin.
