Alice Vickers Mills, age 83, of Austell, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Born in Douglas, Georgia on February 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Vickers and Emma McEachern Vickers. She graduated from the University of Georgia as a proud Chi Omega and taught home economics at South Cobb High School in Austell. In 1950, she met her husband, Walter Morris Mills and was married for forty one years. An active and beloved member of the Austell community, Alice was a member of the Austell Woman’s Club and the Austell First United Methodist Church. She also traveled extensively with the numerous organizations she participated in. She was known for her generosity and kind spirit. Survivors include her daughter, Emma Mills Bledsoe of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; her grandchildren, Winter Bledsoe, of Snowmass, Colo.; Nina and Kevin Ray of Austell; and Cason and Bradley Wilson of Austell; Virginia Anderson, Jane McNulty, and Nora Merritt of Douglas,Ga.; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, 1975 East West Connector, in Austell from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, May 24. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, May 25 at Austell First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Martin officiating.
