Jeff Clemmons, author of “Rich’s: A Southern Institution,” signed books and engaged the guests with stories of the history of Rich’s. Carol Westbrook of The Magnolia Room organized a fashion show like the ones at Rich’s. Models paraded around each table. Fashion information cards were at each place setting. The Magnolia Room and Urban Renewal, and Doodlebugz and Rhinos and Rhinestonez (on the Marietta Square) loaned pieces for the models to wear.
Chicken salad, cheese straws, frozen fruit salad and the famous coconut cake, made from original Magnolia Room recipes, were prepared by Creations by Cookie. Attendees received swag bags full of goodies including Trapp candles, Bremen Museum passes, Little Black Dress/ Little Red Wagon magazines and coupons to surrounding retailers.
Lunching in fashion were: Charlene Barton, Betty Benson, Eugenia Bocian, Emma Jane Canup, Jean Galt, Betty Goolsby, Martha Graham, Judy Renfro, Roberta Roberts, Betty Sheldon, Mary Grace Smith, Margerie Tulkoff, Carolyn Whitfield and Melissa Whitfield.
