COLUMBUS, Ohio — A year to the day after kicking off his victorious re-election campaign on this college campus, President Barack Obama returned to Ohio State University and told graduates that only through vigorous participation in their democracy can they right an ill-functioning government and break through relentless cynicism about the nation’s future.

“I dare you, Class of 2013, to do better. I dare you to dream bigger,” Obama said.

In a sunbaked stadium filled with more than 57,000 students, friends and relatives, Obama lamented an American political system that gets consumed by “small things” and works for the benefit of society’s elite. He called graduates to duty to “accomplish great things,” like rebuilding a still-feeble economy and fighting poverty and climate change.

“Only you can ultimately break that cycle. Only you can make sure the democracy you inherit is as good as we know it can be,” Obama told more than 10,000 cap-and-gown-clad graduates gathered for the rite of passage. “But it requires your dedicated, informed and engaged citizenship.”

Invoking the end of the Cold War, 9/11 and the economic recession, Obama said this generation had been tested beyond what their parents could have imagined. But he said young Americans have responded with a deep commitment to service and a conviction that they can improve their surroundings. He urged graduates to run for office, start a business or join a cause, contending that the health of their democracy “requires your dedicated, informed and engaged citizenship.”

“You’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems,” Obama said. “You should reject these voices. Because what these suggest is that somehow our brave, creative, unique experiment in self-rule is just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.”

What Mr.Obama lacks in intelligence he makes up for in guile. There are warning signs everywhere and just because this is the "U.S. of A", the same evil that plagues us has plagued previous governments and peoples, only fools ignore the continuing warning signs.

1. A former FBI counter-terrorism agent just recently admitted on CNN that all phone conversations nationwide are being screened and recorded. This isn't a hard task to accomplish, just look how much information can be compressed on a micro SD card.

2. D.H.S. is buying up millions of rounds of ammo with the most deceitful of excuses as "training". Our military doesn't use such quantities and they fight wars. Why then do "domestic agencies" require such quantities that exceed our armed forces usage? To use a quote from Mr. Obama from July 2nd 2008:

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded." ....Poor choice of words? I think not and of course there's the current secondary goal of drying the market up.

3. Aerial surveillance drones over American cities, need I say more?

4. T.S.A., police state thugs working to get the air traveling public use to check points and warrant-less searches. Yes, that 6 year old girl is a security threat, lets pat her down in the name of national security or maybe that elderly woman in the wheelchair( sarcasm).

5. Obama-care, forcing the public to divulge personal health records to the government, while taking our personal healthcare decisions from us and turning our healthcare providers into unwilling government agents. Its all about control, just wait 2014 isn't that far off.

I could continue but you get the point(maybe). To be fair, this all didn't start with Mr. Obama. He's just the current stooge of the oligarch's and the culmination of failed moral, ethical American leadership of the last 24 years while also being the best example of the increasing stupidity of American voters. My best advice when dealing with the federal government, trust nothing they say and question everything they do, that goes for democrats and republicans alike...

Ha! He bemoans the small things, yet here's a president that comments on specific incidents that make no difference in the larger picture re the success or failure of our country.

He cannot weigh in on important matters such as Syria, yet he jumps to discuss a gay basketball player (who cares?). He has no comment on a generation of veterans who cannot get their benefits due to VA backlogs of historic proportions, yet has time for a beer with some cop and professor in Mass. The man is such a failure.
