The Last Sugar Ray Report -We rejoice in Ray Allen’s departure for his heavenly home on March 10th, 2013. He passed away peacefully, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in 1923 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Ray leaves behind a daughter and son- in-law, Jennifer and Clay Williams, grand-children Alec, Harrison and Susanna Williams all of Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jean. Ray taught Sunday School, Church Training and Royal Ambassadors for many years at Crestview Baptist Church, Marietta , Georgia and later Vengeance Creek Baptist Church, Marble, North Carolina. He always had a story to tell and a trick up his sleeve. Ray was an inspiration to those of us who were fortunate enough to meet him on life’s journey. He went by many names, Mr. Allen, Sugar Ray, Racie, Raymondo, Uncle Ray, Dadoo, Ole, and Hip Hip Hoo-Ray. Whatever name you knew him by join us at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11th at Gracepointe Marietta Church as we celebrate his life.
