A Rome woman is in Cobb County Jail after police said she kept her 10-month-old daughter in unsanitary conditions.

Mindy Kay Parton was arrested Sunday on charges of felony first-degree child cruelty after an Acworth police officer found the child in the back seat of a car surrounded by garbage and covered in filth. The officer reported that the child’s clothing and body appeared to be soaked in urine and feces.

According to the arrest warrant, the officer spotted Parton sitting in a 1994 Ford Thunderbird at a gas station and noticed a foul odor, which he determined was caused by the child’s diaper that had not been changed in more than a day. The officer said the child had not had a diaper change or a bath in some time.

The child was found to be unhealthy and was taken into protective custody.

Parton is also the subject of a pending child cruelty case in Floyd County, according to the Cobb warrant.

Parton was released on $5,000 bond.

There is no excuse for this. Some people are not fit to be parents and that is all to it. I doubt she would pass a drug test.

Sorry but when you are a parent your child comes 1st no matter what you can go dirty but not your child, keep this baby in the same dirty diaper for a day or more is just nasty on the moms part. I say let her get a depend and keep it on for a week with no shower and garage around her see how she feels. She's a find example of unfit parents.
