DEAR EDITOR:

Guest columnist Pete Borden wrote a well-timed and informative account in the April 2 MDJ of local community theater, detailing the wonderful opportunities that we have in this area for the theater arts.

But there is also another theater in Marietta. The Polk Street Players are located at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Marietta. Founded in 1979, this group has presented over 100 plays continuously since then.

Our next production will be “The Dining Room” by A.R. Gurney. With seven actors portraying over 50 characters, this is a wonderful story told in 18 scenes in a single set. It stars veteran actors Kimberley Smith Lowe, Tracey Egan, Kellen Jahn, John Mistretta, Andy Ward, and Evan Weisman and this is a show you don’t want to miss. The cast is rounded out with Karina Matechak, who is making her PSP debut.

The production runs from May 3 through May 18. Come and see it!
