Unless you have a great reason to head into downtown Atlanta this weekend, such as tickets to an NCAA Final Four game, you might want to find a way to spend some time at home in Cobb.
With the Final Four tournament taking place at the Georgia Dome through Monday, traffic could be a nightmare. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the tournament and the surrounding events.
Along with the NCAA Tournament's final round of games, downtown Atlanta is also hosting The Big Dance, a free three-day concert series in Centennial Olympic Park. It features big names like the Dave Matthews Band, Sting and the Zac Brown Band. Over that three-day span, organizers say they're expecting upwards of 150,000 people to attend.
If you do happen to be one of the lucky folks going to the games, your best bet is to take MARTA to the Georgia Dome. If you must drive in Atlanta police suggest you take the Northside Drive exit from I-75.
Here at home, there are some route changes for Cobb’s express bus service. You can view the changes at the Cobb Transit website.
