Mrs. Jeanette Maureen Allen, age 74, of Marietta, GA passed away with her family present on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Jeanette was born March 18, 1939 in Shell Creek, Tennessee and lived in Marietta for the last 32 years. She is survived by Marvin Ray Allen her husband of 45 years. During her life, Jeanette worked at times as a manager of restaurants and a homemaker. Mom was happy, funny, quick and witty. Throughout the years, she would often take young people needing a little help into her home providing them with shelter, food and comfort. She loved kids, gardening, and cooking. She was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother to many and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation. A private ceremony with dear friends and family will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday March 24, 2013 at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta, GA. 770-428-1511 The family will receive close friends and family between 3:00 – 4:00 pm at the same location. Internment of her cremated remains will be at Georgia National Cemetery at a future date.
