Hillgrove took advantage of Marietta miscues to score five runs in the sixth for a come-from-behind victory Tuesday.
Tyler Weyenberg went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Brian Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double and Chad Adkins added a two-run double.
Miles Wilson was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and drove in three for Marietta. Eric Henderson added two hits, including a double and an RBI.
McEachern 16, South Cobb 0 (5 inn.): The Indians scored seven runs in the first and eight in the fifth to put away its Region 4AAAAAA rival.
T.J. Clark went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Jarred Walker who had two hits and drove in three led the way for McEachern. Sam Stephens had two hits and drove in a pair, Trey Harris each 2-for-3 with a triple, Dalton Geekie went 2-for-3 and Zach Smith added a pinch-hit two run home run.
Bruce Kirkpatrick earned the win with four innings of one-hit ball while striking out five.
Harrison 9, Pebblebrook 3: The Hoyas scored three runs in both the third and fourth innings to pull away from the Falcons in Region 4AAAAAA play.
Nick Sexton and Hunter Fortner each went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Austin Kuchinski added a two-run single.
Jonathan Fisher pitched four innings and struck out six to earn the win.
Pope 6, North Springs 1: Carl Williams’ three-run double in the second inning was the big blow for the Greyhounds’ offense in the Region 7AAAAA road game.
Wes Smith was 2-for-3, while Nathaniel Lowe, the game’s starting pitcher, contributed an RBI double.
From the mound, Lowe
(3-0) went six innings, allowing North Springs’ lone run on three hits and a walk. He struck out seven.
Kell 8, Riverwood 1: Bradley Taylor homered twice, leading the Longhorns to the Region 7AAAAA win in Sandy Springs.
Taylor finished with four RBIs on the night.
Brady Smith was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBIs, while Jamari Moore was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.
Avery McReynolds (4-1) went the distance, striking out three, allowing an unearned run and striking out three.
Lassiter 5, Parkview 4: Lassiter did all its scoring in the first and second innings — four of them coming in the second — to hold off the defending state champions.
Caleb Koutsche was 2-for-3 and scored a run for the Trojans (6-3). Tyler Elwer was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Nick Esposito was 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.
The Trojans strung together as many as four straight hits to score four runs in the second.
Tim Eber is now 4-0 on the mound after getting the win. He gave up eight hits, six strikeouts and four runs. Elwer ended up with the save in the seventh.
North Cobb 10, Kennesaw Mountain 0 (5 inn.): Patrick Smith’s grand slam in the fourth inning to break the game open and beat Kennesaw Mountain after falling to the Mustangs last Friday.
Trevor Devine was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Eli Sepnieski was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Tyler Martin and Chad McClanahan were both 2-for-3.
Devine threw all five innings and allowed just two hits and a walk. He’s now 4-0 on the year.
Walker 5, Mount Zion-Carroll 3: Walker accounted for all five runs in the first three innings with four of them coming in the second.
The Wolverines had three hits in the inning, highlighted by an Alex Watkins RBI single. They also took advantage of Mount Zion’s only error in the inning to score. Walker scored another run on a passed ball.
Zach Eikost got his first region win for Walker, giving up three hits while striking out six in five inning. Austin Walker pitched the latter part of the sixth and got our of a bases loaded jam in the seventh to get the save.
Harrison 7, McEachern 0: Thomas Cook set the Hoyas off with the game’s first three goals.
Andrew Deltac scored twice, with Nathan Vickroy and Cole Guertin also scoring. Deltac and Vickroy each had two assists.
Kevin McKay saved the only shot he faced for Harrison (7-2, 3-0 Region 4AAAAAA).
Walton 2, Milton 0: Greg Carbo and Sommy Khalaj scored first-half goals to lead the Raiders to the Region 5AAAAAA win.
Michael Jurick saved all seven shots he faced to record the shutout for Walton (7-3, 3-1).
Marietta 2, Woodstock 1 (OT): Matt Taylor scored inside the penalty box on a Will Nelson assist with 1:35 left in the second overtime to win the non-region game.
Woodstock scored early in the first half before Marietta scored the equalizer on a Nelson penalty kick.
Ian Shannon had three saves at goal.
Kell 4, Sprayberry 3 (2OT): Will Cullom scored with 4 seconds left in the second overtime period, sending the Longhorns to the down-to-the-wire Region 7AAAAA victory.
Cullom also scored in regulation, as did Nicolas Burbano and Daniel San Nicolas, and Kell (6-5, 3-2) took a 3-0 lead that Sprayberry whittled away. Cameron Rosendahl had two assists, including one on Cullom’s game-winner.
Josue Compean saved five shots for Kell.
Antonio Valenzuela scored Sprayberry’s first goal on an Adrian Rodriguez assist. Michael Rabah followed with a goal on an assist by Rodrigo Blankenship to pull within one. Alfredo Padilla tied with an assist by Calum Eaton with 1:36 in play.
Lassiter 4, Roswell 3 (PKs): The penalty kicks came down to the sixth kicker from each team. Justin Shaw saved Roswell’s attempt while Munear Abousaud was successful.
Roswell went up 3-1 early in the second half before scoring two unanswered to tie it.
Will Stubbs put Lassiter on the board early in the second half on an unassisted goal. Once Roswell answered to claim its 3-1 lead, Clay Dimick headed in Lassiter’s second goal on a Justin Black assist before Robbie Cutchin tied it with an assist by Trey Luscre.
Pope 2, Marist 2: Zach McCown scored two second half goals to help the Greyhounds come out of the game with a tie.
Pope led 2-0 in the second half before Marist rallied to tie the game with 4 minutes to play.
Franklin Robinson added an assist.
Kennesaw Mountain 6, South Cobb 0: Kennesaw Mountain blanked South Cobb in its Region 4AAAAAA matchup on the road.
Edgar Martinez totaled two goals and an assist for the Mustangs (6-4, 3-0), who led 4-0 at halftime. Alejandro DelAngel, Felipe Silva, Reagan Byrd and Henrique Lima each had one goal.
Taylor Cotton stopped three saves for Kennesaw Mountain.
Walton 1, Milton 0: Maddie Wellstead scored the lone goal of the match to lift the Lady Raiders to a Region 5AAAAAA victory.
Wellstead collected Mandi Goodman’s pass, headed the ball to herself and beat the keeper midway through the first half.
Michel Fernandez made sure of the victory with a save that plucked the ball out of the air just before it went in the upper corner of the goal.
Kennesaw Mountain 10, South Cobb 0: Tayler Hartrampf set a single-game team record for goals as the Lady Mustangs cruised to a Region 4AAAAAA win.
Hartrampf scored six goals, many assisted by Olivia Guajardo, who set a team record with seven assists.
Mooregan Elder added two goals, while Vannah Moreland and Maddy Giroir each had one.
Taylor Parker recorded the shutout for Kennesaw Mountain (6-5, 2-1).
Whitefield Academy 3, Walker 1: Francis Hamilton scored a hat trick to key the Lady Wolfpack’s Area 7A win.
Two of Hamilton’s goals came in the second half to pad the lead.
Emma Wright added seven saves for Whitefield (4-2, 2-1).
Mount Paran Christian 5, North Cobb Christian 0: Alex Reed provided three of Mount Paran’s goals in the Area 7A road game.
Rachel VanHorn and Ali Fern also scored, with VanHorn contributing an assist.
Courtney McKenzie and Katie Sweeney combined to make four saves for Mount Paran (7-1, 4-0).
Hillgrove 3, North Cobb 0: The Lady Hawks did all their scoring in the first half en route to the Region 4AAAAAA win at home.
Maggie Gaughan scored two goals and was assisted both times by Sydney A. Clark. Rachel Palazzo scored the second goal on an assist by Necee Jennings.
Ivy MacIntyre was credited with the shutout. She had four saves with one coming on a breakaway attempt.
Lassiter 1, Roswell 0: Lassiter got on the board half way through the second half when Kalli Vogel scored off the ball played across the box from Breanne Thompson.
The No. 8-ranked Lady Trojans kept pressing afterwards but couldn’t finish. Their defense withstood four shots on goal with goalkeeper Shannon DeSantis getting the shutout and defender Ally Palazzone leading the back.
Kennesaw Mountain 18, Newnan 6: The Lady Mustangs jumped on their Area 1AAAAAA opponent early at home, taking a
10-3 lead at the half before preserving the win.
Jessica Snyder and Lily Morin both had four goals to lead Kennesaw Mountain and Amanda Griffin, Abby Barnett, Caitlin Farmer each had two goals.
Monica Hicks had nine saves at goal for the Lady Mustangs (6-1, 3-1).
Harrison 22, McEachern 1: The Lady Hoyas scored 15 first-half goals and eased to the Area 1AAAAAA win.
Jessica Williams led Harrison (5-5, 4-0) with five goals, while Merrick Laughridge added four goals and an assists. Blake Lyons had three goals, with Abbey Walker and Taylor Sutton contributing two apiece. Walker also had two assists, and Sutton one.
Alexis Gray recorded the win in the net for Harrison.
Walker 4, Mount Paran Christian 1: Derrick Brown won 6-0, 6-1 to help lead the Wolverines past the Eagles in Area 4A play.
Alan Norsworthy won 6-0, 6-1, as did Austin Newsome 6-1, 6-2 to sweep the singles matches.
Will Chocallo and Daniel Sosnovsky won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.
Mount Paran Christian’s Rico Washington and Brent Keenan won the Eagles only point with a
3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory at
No. 2 doubles.
North Cobb 3, Hillgrove 2: Richard Johnson clinched the Warriors their Region 4AAAAAA win with his 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles.
Andre Canino added a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Bradford Lahmann and Jacob Hightower with their 7-5, 6-4 win.
Matt Hill gave Hillgrove a win at No. 1 singles, rallying for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory. Nick Orvino and Jaelen Holt also rallied at No. 1 doubles, for a 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 win.
Pope 3, Sprayberry 2: The Lady Greyhounds leaned on the doubles teams to beat their Region 7AAAAA rival.
Lauren Husney and Katie Story won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles and the team of Lindsay Roberts and Meghan Matsumoto followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Kate Webber won No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3.
Sprayberry’s Abbie Grant won 6-4, 6-4 and Sydney Webster came out on top 7-6, 6-3.

Chioma Okonkwo won 6-1, 6-1, Taylor Cranford 6-0, 6-2, and Jessica Cantrell 6-2, 6-0 to sweep singles play.
The doubles teams of Jaiden Massi and Emily Deubel, and Elise Joyce and Hannah Creech each won 7-6, 6-1.
Harrison 5, Pebblebrook 0: The Lady Hoyas gave up just three games total in their Region 4AAAAAA victory at Pebblebrook.
The doubles teams of Taylor Lambertson and Jaclyn Black and Liz Powers and Wendy Jhang both won their matches 6-0, 6-0, while Alexis Morris, Meredith Frost and Callie Rittweger gave up one game apiece in winning their singles matches.
Walton 5, Wheeler 0: The Lady Raiders ended up sweeping east Cobb Region 5AAAAA rival Wheeler at home on Senior Night.
Seniors Melissa Mashburn won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and senior Hannah Sherrod won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
Suzanne Zenoni was perfect at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. At doubles, Katie Riley and Jessica Cramer won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, and Anne Gaskins and Sheena Mookerji won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2.
South Cobb 4, Campbell 1: Bola Bamidele was in a battle at No. 1 singles, winning 7-5, 6-2, but had an easier time winning the other singles matches.
Sara Darensbourg was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 2, and Jada Moore won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Erin Kobiella and Kayla Trahan won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles for the other point.
Lizeth Estrada and Jade Thomas won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles for Campbell’s only win.
Walker 3, Mount Paran Christian 2: The Area 4A match came down to No. 2 doubles where Caroline Kunetz and Holly Harkins won
The Lady Wolverines (5-2, 4-0) also got wins at No. 3 singles where Mia Patello won 6-3, 6-2. At No. 1 doubles, Audrey Cunningham and Leigh Norsworthy won 6-1, 6-4.
Mount Paran’s Madison Darling won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Hannah Lupas won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2.
Kennesaw Mountain 4, McEachern 1: The Lady Mustangs won four of their five matches with relative ease in their Region 4AAAAAA match.
Chika Okonkwo won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Margaret Stocks didn’t lose a game at No. 3. Marilyn Corn and Katie Manroe won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and Abby Seabaugh and Samantha Maddin prevailed 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.
Christian Wade won 7-6 (2), 6-3 at No. 2 singles for McEachern only point.
Harrison finishes third in North Georgia Invitational: The Hoyas shot 314 as a team to finish third in the two-day tournament.
Peachtree Ridge won the event with Roswell coming in second.
Harrison opened with 341 last week. Tuesday, Brian Greaves shot 75 to lead the way for the Hoyas.
Luke Schniederjans shot 76, Sam Maryland 81, and Nick Bell 82.
Kennesaw Mountain 165, Marietta 186: The Mustangs played nine holes against Region 4AAAAAA rival Marietta at Marietta Country Club with Jonathan Keppler and Marshall Cua leading the way with a 39.
Stewart Lawrence carded a 42 and Nick McAlpine shot 45.
For Marietta, Evan Nichols shot a 38 to earn low medalist and Pate Foster shot 44.
Harrison 137, Mount Paran Christian 171: Allison Black shot 42 to lead the Lady Hoyas past the Lady Eagles at Brookstone Country Club.
Hailey Willman shot 46 and Caroline McLeod finished with 49.
