ATLANTA — Just like she has done throughout her career, Kendell Williams made the 100-meter hurdles look simple.

The Kell senior won the event by more than a half-second over North Cobb’s Shanel Burr in this weekend’s Coaches Invitational at Georgia Tech’s Griffin Stadium. She clocked in at 13.61 seconds, with Burr at 14.34.

Williams also led Kell’s 1,600 relay to a third-place finish (4:00.27), won the long jump (19 feet, 5 inches) and was second in the high jump (5-6).

“I was focused on having good performances,” said the Georgia signee, an eight-time state champion in her three years as a high school athlete. “I felt good. I was happy with our (1,600 relay), and it was the first 400 I’ve ran this season. I’m glad it’s over, and I am proud of my whole team.”

The Lady Longhorns also placed second in the 3,200 relay (9:49.19).

The Kell boys were also victorious in the 110 hurdles, with Jordan Jackson winning in 14.74. Kennesaw Mountain’s Terrell Singleton took second in 14.84.

The Allatoona boys had the most success in the pole vault, with Trey Oates winning with a clearance of 16-4¾. Teammate Hunter Arnold was sixth at 12-6.

The North Cobb girls won the 800 sprint medley (1:47.75), and the boys took the 1,600 sprint medley (3:43.20).

Kennesaw Mountain’s Jordan Shealy had the top mark of 11 feet in the girls pole vault, matching Creekview’s Anna Dunn, but she lost a tiebreaker based on fewer missed attempts. Allatoona’s Elise Moffatt (10-6) was third.

Shealy’s teammate, DoVon Johnson, leaped 36-8¼ in the triple jump to take third.

Andrea Vahoua led Pope — the meet’s co-organizer, along with the Atlanta Track Club — winning the shot put (39-8½) and finishing fifth in the discus (108-11½).

For the Pope boys, Braxton Phipps took fourth in the triple jump (43-7), with Harrison’s Deandre Nunez (43-5) and Allatoona’s D.J. Ezell (43-2½) right behind him at fifth and sixth.

The Walton girls’ lone win came in the 6,400 relay (21:30.90).

Kenan Farmer led the Walton boys by taking fourth in the 3,200 run (9:27.53). The Raiders also took fourth overall in the 6,400 relay (18:09.29).

The Sprayberry boys took second in the 800 sprint medley (1:34.14), and Charles Cooper was fifth in the long jump (20-9). In the 100 dash, Myles Wallace was fifth (11.21) and Aaron Blue (11.37) sixth.

For the Lady Yellow Jackets, Maya Marshall took fifth in the 100 dash (12.76).

Lassiter’s Quincy Perdue was third in the boys high jump (6 feet).

The Harrison girls had success in the girls steeplechase, an event not held during a typical high school meet. Audrey Smith was third (7:55.05) and Kennedy Sorge fourth (7:56.87).
