Kay Cornell Janus left the bounds of this earth on March 10, 2013. She was born on May 1st, 1940 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Fred & Joan Cornell. She was preceded in death by her brother Frederick Cornell, son Robert Janus, and her husband Myron. She is survived by her daughters Jamie Lilly Mullis (her husband Mike and their sons Lynseay and Jesse, Donna Janus Griffin (husband Dan) and Koreen Janus, brother, Kenneth Cornell (wife Becky), sisters Rae Lamb (husband Ralph) and Vernie Pregont (husband Bob) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kay was always one to brighten your day. She was known for her grace, poise and radiant smile. She exuded class. Kay loved fine wine, cooking, traveling, entertaining, sewing and decorating. She won the Betty Crocker Homemaker of the year award in High School. She was always giving of her time and talents and was a loyal and loving friend. Her greatest pleasure was in spoiling everybody. Kay retired in 2010 after 26 years of service at Rodl & Partners. A celebration of Kay’s life will be held on Thursday March 14th at 7pm at the North River Church of Christ at 320 Austin Avenue in Marietta, GA 30060. The family will be greeting guests following the service. The Family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the North River Church with “In Memory of Kay Cornell Janus” in the subject line.
